Breaking ForeverBreaking "Forever"
He ground his teeth and tightened his grip. The heat was so intense that he felt completely drenched in sweat. His head felt light, his heart rate was out of control and his breathing started getting heavier. The pressure was consuming his mind, yet he knew that it was right then when he could least give up. He opened his eyes... mountains to the right and to the left and nothing but dull gray clouds filling the firmament above. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, almost as if he were alone. He had come to this place many times before, he knew what it could throw at him, and so he stood there waiting. A faint glimmer of light caught his attention. It was so sudden it would have been easy to miss, however he now knew that victory was in reach. No more than a second passed and the loud clanging of steel against steel echoed throughout the entire valley.
"What? How could you possibly know...?"-said the female attacker at the shock of being discovered. "I'm sorry to tell

There was something eerie in the air, she could feel it. Young Canela sensed something strange in the atmosphere: there was just too much silence around her house, and that fact made her uneasy. Her parents were always full of energy and raised their voices while talking, especially while getting ready for such a yearned trip to visit their most beloved relatives. Is it going to kill me too?” Unpleasant thoughts such as these were the only thing to cross her mind; the whole world was at a standstill for her and the suspense had nearly gutted her spirit. Canela
Abandoned ChapelThe parish waits now,
the loneliness of corners
crawling outward on walls--
chipped away by the wind,
and held together
by silk spindles;
cobwebs align them like the membranes of memories,
the cut of a jewel in an broken window
against the sun
where beads of rain
gather in a mesh of strands
a new Mosaic
against the backdrop of a cemetery;
My eyes seek out the sermon
in close proximity,
paint no distance
between headstone and cloud;
elegies topple each other
in their climb to heaven
as light trickles
over the shade,
breathes a new glow over snuffed candles.
I feel the weight in these empty rows,
how a breath couldn't cease to be breath
in the midst of prayer.
